Danish businessmen become artists.

There’s a bunch of Danish guys here on a team weekend in Barcelona. The want an activity for a couple of hours and they are also looking for a memento for their annual event.

I could make a group caricature for them – but then they are just drinking beer in the sunshine. Why not get them to help?

I get paint, brushes and paper and let’s set them all to work – each one drawing a different part of the picture. Let’s see what happens.

I give them some photos of various monuments around the city – stuff I would put into a ‘Barcelona background’. Guys, just paint! Don’t ask questions. Kids do it all the time so what’s the problem? Amazing results in eleven different styles! Naif – yes, decorative – yes too.

Are these guys artists? Nope! Result: Hilarious.

So now I have 11 monuments in glorious colour. Now I need 11 bodies. I get them to choose another person’s body to draw. This time the images are priceless – (I think some of them were taking the Mick) – that’s caricature!

Whilst all this is happening I am also getting them to come up one at a time up to get their faces caricatured by me. A quick simple sketch which I will later attach to the body (Photoshop). I’ll also use the monuments in the background making a team effort group caricature that everybody has participated in.

They go on to the next activity whilst I take the pictures to the studio. I put everything together in Photoshop and then produce a print for each team member to take back to Denmark after the weekend. Sweet memories!
